KAWA Power was an independent power development and investment platform focused on identifying, developing, and monetizing renewable and energy-infrastructure assets in Canada. KAWA Power assets included the development of Goat Island Pump storage, American Creek Run of River and others. In 2022, we successfully exited our investment in KAWA Power.

The Narrows Inlet projects represent additional hydroelectric developments that have received environmental certification and progressed through planning and permitting. These projects further demonstrate our ability to bring hydro developments through environmental review and toward delivery. We have existed this investment in 2015.

The Tyson Creek Hydroelectric Plant is an operational run-of-river hydro facility developed, permitted, and constructed by the Powergrid team. It secured a long-term power purchase agreement under a BC Hydro power call and operates as a clean, renewable energy supply into the provincial system. This plant features a high hydraulic head that enables strong capacity factors compared to typical small hydro, supporting efficient year-round generation and contributing to BC’s clean energy portfolio. We have existed this investment in 2014.

The Bremner and Trio hydro projects are British Columbia–based run-of-river hydroelectric assets with a combined capacity of approximately 50 MW, delivering long-term, low-carbon power aligned with the province’s clean-energy framework. Designed for predictable operating profiles and minimal reservoir risk, the projects benefit from strong hydrology fundamentals, proven technology, and a stable regulatory environment. We have existed this investment in 2019.

The Cascade Heritage Hydroelectric Project is a 28 MW run-of-river hydroelectric facility located near the historic power generation site on the Kettle River at Christina Lake, British Columbia. The project received permitting approval from the provincial government and is designed to generate environmentally benign, emission-free power without storage reservoirs. The development reestablishes a historically significant site — one of the early pioneers of alternating current generation — while maintaining the scenic character of the area. The project benefits include local employment, protection of fish habitat, minimal environmental footprint, and utilization of existing transmission infrastructure.
